Levy will be over the moon after 'massive' Tottenham announcement - Robinson
Paul Robinson has claimed “it is a massive deal” for Tottenham to host the Anthony Joshua-Oleksandr Usyk fight.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one said hosting the boxing will be very beneficial for the club on a commercial and financial level.
As reported by Sky Sports yesterday, Anthony Joshua will fight Oleksandr Usyk in one of the most eagerly anticipated heavyweight clashes of the year at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday September 25th.
Spurs’ £1billion stadium, which opened in April 2019, was built as a multipurpose venue to host football, other sporting events and concerts.
The London club agreed a 10-year deal with the NFL in 2015 which sees two games played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium every year.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his reaction to the boxing news, Robinson said: “This is exactly what Daniel Levy wants.

“It is what the stadium was built for. This is not just a stadium for Premier League football. It is a stadium to host worldwide events.
“The deal with the NFL is huge. That has been a big success. Now we are going to see the boxing there. It is a massive deal for the club, commercially and financially.
“You worry at what cost it is to the pitch though. There is so many weeks of the year when the pitch has to be slid out of the stadium and out of its natural environment. You worry if it could effect the actual playing services. At the end of the day, it is the players’ stage.”
