Alan Hutton claims Harry Redknapp has hit the nail on the head after he urged Tottenham to sign a player like Aston Villa ace Jack Grealish this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Villa and Spurs full-back claims the 24-year-old would be an “amazing fit” for Jose Mourinho’s men.
Former Tottenham manager Redknapp, speaking to talkSPORT Breakfast, believes Spurs need a player like Luka Modric or Christian Eriksen and insists Grealish fits the mould.
Hutton has echoed the thoughts of his old manager, suggesting that Spurs need to look at the impact Bruno Fernandes has had at Manchester United for inspiration.
Hutton told Football Insider: “I think Harry Redknapp is right with this one, I think Tottenham, at the moment, are missing a player of his ability.
“Somebody who, like the Bruno Fernandes type, can link the midfield to the strikers, be a bit more creative and help the forward-thinking players do what they do.
“He would definitely be an amazing fit for them.”
Asked if Spurs should considering signing Grealish this summer, Redknapp told talkSPORT: “Grealish for sure, that is what they lack.
“We had Luka [Modric] in there, Pochettino had Eriksen, people like that can make them play – people that can make them tick. They need to recruit a couple of players in the summer.”
In other Tottenham news, Spurs have been given a major boost over a “dream” signing this summer.
