Liverpool goalkeeper wants to join recently-promoted Premier League club Huddersfield next season, according to a report.
The Echo claim that the 23-year-old wants to return to the Terriers after spending a season-long loan at the Kirklees Stadium last year.
It is understood that the shot stopper knows the decision of a move is not his to make, but would prefer to play for Huddersfield next season.
The report details that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is expected to take a look at him during the pre-season before making a decision.
Ward enjoyed a brilliant loan spell at Huddersfield last season and played a major role in their promotion to the Premier League.
The Wales international was the hero in two penalty shootouts as the Yorkshire club achieved promotion via the play-offs.
He made 46 appearances across all competitions for Huddersfield and kept an impressive 12 clean sheets in return.
Football Insider verdict:
Ward proved his qualities out on loan at Huddersfield last year and was also a success during a spell with Scottish club Aberdeen. The goalkeeper has the potential to become a future number one at Liverpool and is only going to improve at the age of 23. However, he could do with a year of Premier League experience under his belt before becoming the number one at Anfield and a move to Huddersfield seems like a perfect fit. Ward become a popular figure in David Wagner’s side last year and there is every chance he could nail down a starting XI spot once again.
