Medical booked: Liverpool agree to sell player for £13.5m after Juventus offer - Sources

Liverpool have agreed to sell Ki-Jana Hoever to Wolves for a fee worth £13.5million in total, Football Insider understands.

The Midlands outfit are finalising the capture of the versatile defender, 18, amid a whirlwind of transfer activity on Merseyside.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Hoever is headed for a medical at Wolves today after the terms of his transfer were agreed.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s side will pay an initial £9million for the Holland youth international rising to a potential £13.5m with add-ons.

They beat off competition from Juventus for Hoever, with the Serie A champions offering him a glamour move to Italy.

His departure will offset the cost of Diogo Jota, who is heading to Anfield today for a medical that will finalise a deal that only emerged into the public domain yesterday.

The Portugese attacker is set for a Liverpool medical after they had a bid of £41m rising to £45m accepted by Wolves.

Hoever has already played four matches for Jurgen Klopp’s first team and, coincidentally, made his debut in January 2019 in a 2-1 FA Cup defeat against Wolves.

Capable of playing centre-back or right-back, he has played through all the Holland age groups up to Under-18s and is regarded as a potential international star of the future.

His Anfield exit will raise eyebrows among Liverpool supporters given they have not yet replaced Dejan Lovren, who joined Zenit St Petersburg earlier in the window.

Klopp has just three senior centre-backs in his squad in Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.

In other news, Liverpool have agreed a sensational new signing costing £67m.
