Liverpool have agreed a deal with Fulham for attacker Sheyi Ojo, according to a report.
Sky Sports claimed on their transfer centre blog (Tuesday 1:43pm) that the Reds have agreed to loan out their 20-year-old to the Championship club.
It is understood that the winger must now decided between a move to Fulham, Middlesbrough or Newcastle.
The Sun have reported that Premier League club Newcastle have made contact over a £10million deal for Ojo as Rafael Benitez looks to improve his squad.
Ojo has enjoyed a great summer after helping England win the Under-20s World Cup and coming off the bench in the final against Venezuela.
The youngster is a highly rated talent at Anfield and has made 13 senior appearances for Liverpool.
However, he played just twice for Jurgen Klopp’s side last season and was mainly used in the club’s Under-23s side.
He has previously enjoyed loan spells in the Championship in the past with Wolves and Wigan, something that Fulham will have looked at.
Football Insider verdict:
Ojo certainly has huge potential and it would be foolish for Liverpool to let him go, despite the temptation to cash in on the youngster. They should send him on a third loan to the Championship for upcoming campaign and he is now at an age where he can make a serious impact. The wide man is blessed with brilliant speed and trickery, but now needs to find some consistency in front of goal. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is always keen to promote young talents into his first team, but England star Ojo is not quite yet at the level required. A move to Fulham should help him improve drastically, with Slavisa Jokanovic’s side playing an attractive brand of football.
In other Liverpool transfer news, they are close to completing a £8million deal for a defender.
