Liverpool backed to accept '£40m' Mohamed Salah bid as replacement mooted - pundit
Liverpool could sell Mohamed Salah for “£40million” and replace him with Raphinha of Leeds United, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed every top team will be interested in signing Raphinha this summer.
As quoted by Sky Sports last month (27 May), Salah, 29, confirmed he will see out the final year of his Liverpool contract at Anfield.
Football Insider first revealed last year (6 February 2021) that Raphinha had blown away their scouts in his debut season at Leeds.
Since then, the 25-year-old has gone from strength to strength and ended the 2021-22 Premier League season with 14 goal contributions as the Whites finished 17th.
“I think he would be a good player for Liverpool,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“His better football is on the right and that position is taken up by Salah. Would they think ‘Salah can go then, we can get £30million, £40million with a year left on his contract’.
“I don’t see any top team not looking to sign Raphinha, I rate him that highly.
“He would be perfect for Liverpool but would Leeds want to sell him? Without him this season (2021-22) they would have definitely gone down.
“They might not want to sell him and will they try and make him too expensive for clubs to afford?”
Raphinha has two years left on his Leeds contract and there has been little progress in talks over a new deal.
He moved to Elland Road from Rennes for £17million in October 2020.
