Liverpool backed to complete double deal after source's Mac Allister reveal - Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested Liverpool could land Mason Mount and Alexis Mac Allister this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Aston Villa striker said Mac Allister would be a better signing than Mount but insisted the Reds “needs numbers” and could land both midfielders in the upcoming window.
On 19 May, sources told this site that the Merseysiders are progressing with talks to sign Mac Allister, 24, this summer and have made him a priority signing.
The midfielder’s Brighton contract runs until 2025 and is believed to include a release clause that becomes active this summer.
The Blues are now open to selling the England international this summer if they cannot reach an agreement over a new contract and Liverpool have been heavily linked with the academy product.

When asked which player would be a better option for the Reds, Agbonlahor told Football Insider: “I would go for Mac Allister.
“I think he is a top player, Mount has not been at his best this season. Mac Allister has won the World Cup, he is showing that Argentinian swagger in his play.
“I really like him I would get him over Mason Mount.
“There could be a chance of a deal for both. Mount will have a year left on his contract and Liverpool need numbers so it would not harm them to get both.”
