Chelsea will sell Liverpool target Mason Mount in the upcoming summer window if he doesn't agree a new contract with the club, sources have told Football Insider.

However, Pochettino will have no influence on the financial package offered to Mount - and Chelsea plan to sell the England international if no agreement can be reached.

It is believed the Blues are desperate to avoid him leaving the club for free in 2024 with the Londoners needing to recoup transfer funds after their mammoth reported £530million+ transfer spend this season.

Football Insider revealed last month (28 April) that Liverpool and Arsenal have both prepared summer offers for Mount.

It is believed that Man United and Bayern Munich are also in the running to land the midfield star.

Mount's current deal, which earns him a reported wage of £80,000-a-week, is set to expire in June 2024 - meaning he can reach a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides in around seven months.

The midfielder, who featured for England at the 2022 World Cup, has been ruled out of the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign after undergoing surgery on a persistent abdominal problem in April.

Mount managed a return of three goals and six assists across 35 appearances in a challenging season for Chelsea.

That is some way short of his best tally of 13 goals and 16 assists, which was achieved in 53 games during the 2021-22 campaign.

Liverpool

Liverpool are plotting an overhaul of their midfield in the summer window, with the likes of James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita set to leave Anfield for free next month.
