Campbell tips Liverpool to be inundated with Keita offers after key update

Liverpool will be inundated with Naby Keita bids if they decide to listen to offers for him this summer.

That is according to ex-Everton and Arsenal goalscorer Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively about the future of the injury-ravaged midfielder.

The 26-year-old has missed 49 matches through illness or injury since he joined the club from RB Leipzig for £52.75m in 2018 and has been sidelined with an ankle problem since December.

Football Insider revealed earlier this week that Liverpool chiefs will hold crunch talks over Keita’s future this summer with his price tag crashing below the £30m mark.

Liverpool have been decimated by injury problems of late, with Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Diogo Jota and Fabinho all sidelined throughout the season.

Campbell believes that Liverpool’s high-octane football is to blame for their injury woes in 2020-21 but that Keita would not be short of options if he sought a move.

He told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs: “I don’t think they’ll struggle to find a suitor for him. He’ll have plenty of options.

“For me, Liverpool and the demands they put on the players and the way they play, it’s obviously going to lead them to injuries. They play at such a high tempo that it’s always gonna bring them injuries.

“We’ve seen so many injuries at Liverpool this year. It was always going to catch up with some of these players.

“But I honestly do think Keita, if Liverpool wanted to move him on, would have plenty of suitors and offers because he’s a great player.”

Keita has played 71 times in total for Liverpool.

Just seven of those appearances have come in Liverpool’s faltering Premier League campaign this season, however.
