Liverpool could replace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with 22-year-old signing after journalist's update - pundit
Liverpool could replace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with Aurelien Tchouameni this summer.
That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about potential changes to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has struggled for game time this season and and he was excluded from the matchday squad that drew with Spurs on Saturday.
His contract at Anfield expires in just over 12 months.
Fabrizio Romano told Anfield Watch (3 May) that the Reds are monitoring AS Monaco midfielder Tchouameni ahead of the summer window.
The club are said to have held talks with the 22-year-old’s agent over a deal that would cost in the region of £60million.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his thought on the potential arrival of Tchouameni, Campbell said:
“You can never have enough quality and youth in the middle of the park. They need to get a touch younger.
“Oxlade-Chamberlain looks like he will leave. There may be a couple of outgoings in that position.
“I think it would be wise to freshen things up a little bit. If someone like Tchouameni comes in it keeps everyone on their toes. It would be a smart move if they manage to get that over the line.”
Tchouameni has just over two years remaining on his contract with AS Monaco.
He has made 48 appearances across all competitions this season.
