'Double his wages' - Liverpool fans react to 23-year-old display against Watford
By Matt Bullin
Liverpool fans have called for Emre Can to be offered a new contract after he scored a wonder goal in the club’s 1-0 win against Watford.
Liverpool won the match at Vicarage Road thanks to Can’s goal, which secured an all-important three points.
The 23-year-old’s strike came in first half injury time as he latched onto Lucas’ chipped ball and hammered an overhead kick into the top left corner of the net.
Can was the stand-out performer for the Reds, alongside Adam Lallana who returned from injury to replace Philippe Coutinho as he limped off after just 13 minutes.
The result consolidates Liverpool’s position in the top four, as they now sit third, three points ahead of Man City who occupy fourth.
