Liverpool fans fume on Twitter as 28-year-old is benched for Watford clash

By Matt Bullin

Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to display their anger at the news Adam Lallana is not starting their match versus Watford at Vicarage Road on Monday night.

The 28-year-old is named on the bench alongside Daniel Sturridge as he completes his return from an injury lay-off which lasted almost two months.

Lallana had been touted by many to start following his return to full training this week, but Klopp named an unchanged side to the one that lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace at Anfield last time out.

A win for the Reds will strengthen their hold on third and improve their chances of a top four finish.

Liverpool’s rivals all slipped up over the weekend as the two Manchester clubs drew, and Arsenal lost to Spurs.

Lallana had been out since the beginning of March with a hamstring injury he picked up while on England duty.

The 31-time England international had been in fine form before the injury, and has contributed to 14 goals in 27 Premier League appearances this term.

Liverpool fans were frustrated as Lallana was left on the bench, rather than starting the match, and they posted their thoughts on Twitter.
