Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reactions to Sadio Mane’s reported season-ending injury.
The Liverpool Echo has reported that the Senegalese forward is likely to undergo knee surgery which could rule him out for eight weeks and potentially end his season.
Mane limped off in the second half after a challenge with Leighton Baines during Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Everton in the Merseyside derby on Saturday.
Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi all netted for the Reds as they beat their bitter rivals at Anfield.
The Senegalese forward has become one of the Reds’ most crucial performers this term following his £30million summer move from Southampton.
The 24-year-old is Liverpool’s top scorer in the league with 13 goals and he has laid on five assists for this team mates as well.
The Reds face Bournemouth at home tonight hoping to extend their unbeaten run to five matches and pick up their third win in four games.
But if they are to do so they will have to do it without Mane.
Here is a selection of messages on Twitter from Liverpool fans reacting to the report:

It's bad news, Reds. Sadio Mane to undergo surgery. His season is over. Get well soon, mate. You've been an absolute revelation.

Mané out for the rest of the season, gutted. The best signing since Phillipe came from Inter.

Losing Mane is sure to be a huge loss for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds but it does provide the opportunity for Divock Origi or Daniel Sturridge to return and lead the line.
Liverpool currently sit in third, having played a game more than the teams around them, could Mane’s injury prove crucial in the race for the top four? Only time will tell.
