Paul Robinson has tipped Kaide Gordon to save Liverpool millions in the future after an impressive performance in the FA Cup.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds and England number one said he expects the 17-year-old to follow in the footsteps of Harvey Elliott at Anfield.

Gordon scored his first goal for the Reds on Sunday in a 4-1 win over Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup third round.

Liverpool signed the teenager from Derby County in February of last year for an initial fee of £1million.

The winger signed his first professional contract with the Merseyside club six months later.

When asked by Football Insider's Dylan Childs if Gordon is a player who could save the club millions in the future, Robinson said:

"Yeah, I can see him being another player like Harvey Elliott. You can see he's got immense talent.

"Jurgen Klopp is not afraid to give his youngsters a chance, much like Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds.

"How many opportunities Gordon gets in the long term is another matter but what he did do is take his chance yesterday. He is showing signs that he will ready if called upon in the future.

"He's not been at Liverpool long but he's already showing why the club spent the money on him."

Gordon made his debut for the Reds in an EFL Cup win over Norwich in September.

He is yet to make his Premier League bow.
