Liverpool are in the hunt for Sheffield United wonderkid David Brooks, according to a report.
The Sun claims that the Reds are joined by Merseyside rivals Everton in the race to land Brooks, 20, after his stunning start to life in the Championship with the newly promoted Blades.
It is understood that Sheffield United are ready to offer the young attacker a new contract in the wake of interest from Premier League sides after he earned his debut international call-up for Wales.
Bramall Lane boss Chris Wilder has recent made it clear that he will not be allowing the attacking midfielder to leave the club any time soon.
“He won’t be going anywhere [in January]. We’ve said that all along,” he said, as quoted by the Sun.

“We are building something here. There are always casualties along the way when you do that and, yes, we are already looking to January ourselves.”
Brooks has been in blistering form so far this season and has been a large part of what has been an unexpectedly good start from Sheffield United.
He has made 11 appearances across all competitions, supplying three assists in the process.
Over the past week, Brooks has starred in wins against bitter Steel City rivals Sheffield Wednesday as well as high-flying Wolves.
Football Insider Verdict
Brooks clearly has a lot of talent but he should not be willing to leave Bramall Lane just yet. The youngster is getting way too much first-team football for him to pursue a move to the Premier League where he will end up sitting in the Under-23 side. He is much better off playing against other senior sides in what is one of the most competitive leagues in the world. Judging by Sheffield United’s start to the campaign he could even celebrate promotion with them come next May. Liverpool don’t really give young attacking players the chance to shine anymore. Their offensive force is way too strong for a player like Brooks to get a look in should be go there.
