'The only thing I have is time'- Liverpool legend open to return to help Klopp
By Laura O’Leary
Liverpool legend Sami Hyypia was all smiles when Matt Smith asked him about the possibility of a return to Anfield.
Speaking after BT Sports’ coverage of Liverpool’s game against Maribor, Smith proposed the hypothetical situation, that if Klopp was to call the former defender – now retired – whether he’d be interested in coming back as a coach.
Hyppia responded, laughing: “I’m between jobs, the only thing I have is time.”
The retired defender spent 10 years at Anfield, playing 449 games, scoring 34 goals and grabbing 4 assists.
In his impressive spell at Liverpool, Hyppia won many trophies with the club. This included winning the Champions League in the 2004/05 season, two FA Cups, two League Cups, two Community Shields and even two UEFA Super Cups in his time at the club.

The former centre back left Liverpool in 2009 when he moved to Bayer Leverkusen. He finished his playing with Bayer Leverkusen, retiring in 2011.
After hanging up his boots, the defender instantly moved into a coaching role with Bayer Leverkusen before working his way up to become their manager.
The former Finnish international then had spells as manager at Brighton Hove Albion and Swiss Super League club FC Zurich.
Hyppia was relieved of his duties as Zurich manager in May 2016, leaving them bottom of the league, which eventually led to them being relegated.
