Liverpool news: Pundit fumes as controversial Sadio Mane footage analysed - 'it makes no sense'
Liverpool winger Sadio Mane has “got away with loads” in the Premier League this season, according to Kevin Campbell.
The ex-Arsenal and Everton star, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, is adamant the 30-year-old should have been sent off in the Merseyside derby last Sunday.
As shown on Sky Sports (24 April), Mane was involved in two incidents in quick succession during Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Everton.
The Senegal international pushed Allan moments before putting his finger into the face of Mason Holgate.
Referee Stuart Attwell booked Mane shortly after but none of the officials deemed the incidents worthy of a red card.
Campbell suggested the Reds forward receives preferential treatment from referees.

“He has got away with loads, let’s have it right,” he told Football Insider.
“It was a sending off offence against Everton. He gouged Holgate’s eye. I don’t think the referee saw it though.
“The problem is, we have all the replays to look at the incident again but if VAR doesn’t report it to the referee nothing can be done.
“We can talk about VAR until we are blue in the face. It doesn’t matter because they never report it. It’s a waste of time. It makes no sense. VAR never said anything to the referee.”
Mane has contributed 20 goals and three assists in 45 appearances across all competitions this season.
His contract at Anfield expires at the end of June 2023.
