Liverpool news: Pundit spots 'big difference' in Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland deals - 'it's amazing'
Liverpool have sealed “an amazing deal” for Darwin Nunez when the player’s salary is considered, according to Paul Robinson.
The former Spurs and England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said there is “a big difference” between the 22-year-old’s and Erling Haaland’s wages.
On 15 June, Liverpool announced the signing of Darwin Nunez from Benfica in a deal which could cost cost a club-record £85million.
According to The Telegraph‘s Matt Law (13 June), the Uruguay international has signed a six-year contract worth £140,000-a-week at Anfield.
Man City confirmed the signing of Erling Haaland just days before Nunez’s arrival.
Haaland cost the Premier League champions just £62million but will reportedly earn £375,000-a-week at the Etihad.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on who got the better deal, Robinson said: “In normal terms Nunez’s wages astronomical but in the football world it is an amazing deal.
“When you compare what he will earn with what Haaland will, there’s a big difference.
“It was a similar transfer fee for both. Liverpool are getting their value with the wages though.
“It is probably a conversation to have in 12 months time when we look at who has scored more goals in the Premier League.
“Nunez got 34 goals last season. He is still young as well.
“Both sides are going to have to adapt their styles to suit a number nine. Neither have had an out-and-out number nine for a while. They both have a focal point now.”
