Liverpool Saido Mane has given Liverpool fans a boost by revealing that he is on the road to recovery.
The Senegalese international was talking at the annual end of season awards where he won an individual double as he was named Liverpool’s Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the season.
The 25-year old has enjoyed a spectacular first season at Anfield as he made 27 Premier League appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists.
Mane suffered a knee injury during the 3-1 win at Anfield over Merseyside rivals Everton but speaking with the club’s official website, the forward delivered some positive news about his recovery.
“I am getting better and I want to thank all of the physios for doing a great job – not just with me, they’re always doing a great job,” he said.

“Hopefully next week I will start running, jogging, so I am happy and looking forward to it.”
Although the injury will mean he will miss the remaining two league games of the season, Mane is likely to return to full fitness at the start of the following campaign.
This will be music to to the ears of Liverpool fans as Jurgen Klopp’s men don’t seem to produce the goods when the Senegalese forward is not in the team.
When Mane competed in the African Cup of Nations earlier this year, Liverpool failed to win a single game in all competitions during his absence, and he marked his return to the starting lineup with a brace in a 2-0 win against Tottenham.
Since his recent injury, Liverpool have only scored two or more goals twice in six Premier League matches.
