Liverpool are scouring the market to find a long-term replacement for star forward Mohamed Salah and he could be "in the building" soon, sources have told Football Insider

Arne Slot and Richard Hughes started work at Anfield last weekend as the new Liverpool chiefs look to formulate a plan for their summer recruitment.

Sources say the Merseyside giants are keen to add a new winger to their ranks once the transfer window reopens as they would like to have Salah’s replacement already secure and signed up before the Egyptian’s eventual departure.

The Merseysiders and Salah are expected to make a joint decision on whether he will remain at the club as a new reign begins under Slot after he was named as Jurgen Klopp’s successor.

Liverpool could sign Johan Bakayoko to replace Mohamed Salah

PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko has been linked with a move to Liverpool for some time and Slot is aware of his qualities following his time as Feyenoord manager.

The 21-year-old registered 14 goals and 14 assists in 48 appearances last season as he helped the Dutch giants secure the Eredivisie title.

The winger will have a chance to enhance his reputation over the coming weeks after being named in Domenico Tedesco’s squad for the upcoming European Championships.

Liverpool could make a move to sign Bakayoko as Salah’s future on Merseyside remains up in the air.

Despite the Egyptian’s form slipping towards the end of last season, he still managed to register 25 goals and 14 assists in 44 appearances across the campaign.
