Sources: 'Huge' update on Salah talks with Liverpool after Klopp-FSG latest
Jurgen Klopp is putting “huge” pressure on Liverpool chiefs behind the scenes to bow to Mohamed Salah’s contract demands, Football Insider has learned.
The Merseysiders have yet to agree a new deal with their star man as he holds out for a package that would make him their highest-ever paid player.
A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that Klopp is doing everything he can to force the issue and ensure Salah, 29, is tied down to a long-term deal.
The German has publicly hailed the Egyptian forward as “the best” player in the world during a remarkable run of nine consecutive scoring appearances.
He is said to be even more effusive behind the scenes during discussions with club owners Fenway Sports Group.

Potentially losing Salah over a contract stalemate is regarded as completely unpalatable by the manager and he is putting his bosses under “huge” pressure.
The US-based chiefs are reluctant to hand Salah a money-is-no object deal until his mid-30s.
But, as revealed by Football Insider last week, they have put together a package worth £350,000-a-week including bonuses.
Salah wants a deal that runs until the summer of 2026, three years past his current agreement expiring in 2023.
He would have just turned 34 by that point, but is confident he will be just as effective in his early 30s as he has been during the last four years at Liverpool.
Salah has begun the new season in sensational form with 12 goals and four assists from 11 Premier League and Champions League matches.
That includes three brilliant individual goals in his last three games against Atletico Madrid, Watford and Man City.
