Liverpool tipped to sign two 'world-class' midfielders in 'blockbuster' window - pundit
Liverpool will strengthen their midfield with two ‘world-class’ signings in the summer transfer window.
That is the opinion of former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about Liverpool’s need to improve their midfield department this summer.
The Reds have endured a frustrating Premier League campaign this season, currently sitting sixth in the table with eight losses to their name.
Jurgen Klopp signed Arthur Melo on loan from Juventus in the summer, but the Brazilian has been unavailable for large parts of the season, leaving Liverpool’s midfield department stretched.
The Merseyside club have been heavily linked to Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, with Football Insider sources revealing on Saturday (18 March) that Liverpool is Bellingham’s first-choice destination this summer.
McManus believes Liverpool are in for a ‘blockbuster’ summer transfer window, with the Premier League outfit targeting two new midfield stars.

“I think Liverpool will go all-in for the likes of Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham this summer,” McManus told Football Insider.
“I think they’re going to have a great summer with one or two blockbuster midfielder signings.
“It’s definitely the area they need to strengthen the most – upfront they look good with Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez, and defensively they will improve with a better midfield.
“I think the missing piece for Klopp could be a world-class midfielder, and I think they’re going to out and get one or two this summer.“
