Liverpool tipped to leave out Jones v Man City after injury update - pundit
Kevin Campbell has tipped Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to make the surprise move to drop Curtis Jones against Manchester City.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League striker predicts Naby Keita to come in for the top-of-the-table clash on Sunday after the club confirmed his return from injury.
Jones, 20, has been Liverpool’s standout player over the last two games.
The midfielder scored against Brentford last Saturday before grabbing two assists in Tuesday’s demolition of FC Porto in the Champions League.
Injuries to Thiago Alcantara, Harvey Elliott and Naby Keita handed Jones an opportunity to impress Jurgen Klopp.
However, Keita’s return fitness provides Klopp with a selection dilemma ahead of Sunday’s game at Anfield.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Liverpool’s team selection v City, Campbell said:
“Jones has been amazing in the past two games and got his goal at the weekend but I think Klopp will go for Keita.
“Keita is back training and has more experience and in a game like this experience counts for a lot. That’s why I think he’ll just edge it.
“Jones is seriously knocking on the door though because he is a very good player and has shown it this week. He is definitely pushing for a starting berth.
“If Thiago was fit he would be playing though. It’s a real blow that he is not available.”
