Liverpool put £7m price tag on attacker with offer expected this weekend - report

By Coral Barry

Liverpool have put a £7million price tag on Luis Alberto with Sevilla expected to make a bid for the attacking midfielder, according to a report.

Alberto has spent the majority of his Liverpool out on loan since joining the club in 2013 and spent last season with Deportivo La Coruna.

The Liverpool Echo claim the Merseysiders are ready to consider offers for the 23-year-old after the attacker impressed for the Spanish club last campaign.

Alberto managed six goals and seven assists in 29 La Liga appearances for Deportivo leading Liverpool to believe they could now recoup most of the £6.8million they originally paid for him when he arrived from Sevilla three years ago.

The La Liga side have already been linked with Liverpool’s Joe Allen after they received a reported £34million from Paris Saint-Germaine for Poland international Grzegorz Krychowiak.

The Reds are expecting an offer from the reigning Europa League champions in the coming days and have set an asking price as a result.

Alberto returned to pre-season this week, but the Reds are in no hurry to part ways with their attacker with Jurgen Klopp yet to get a proper look at him.

In other Liverpool, the Reds have joined the race to sign one of Iceland’s Euro 2016.
