Sources: Major update on Liverpool bid to sign Traore as Lage opens door to Wolves move
Wolves have given Liverpool encouragement over a sensational potential Adama Traore deal by Bruno Lage, Football Insider has been told.
The Molineux boss is ripping up Nuno Espirito Santo’s system in pre-season to implement a new high pressing style.
A Wolves source has told Football Insider that Lage’s new tactical set-up is not expected to suit Traore’s game as he thrives in a more counter-attacking based plan.
The new system has opened the door to the Midlands outfit cashing in on one of their prize assets before the window shuts next month.
Football Insider broke the news on (7th July that Jurgen Klopp’s side have made a surprise enquiry for the forward, 25, this summer.

But Wolves have to sell before they can buy any more players, with the cash well run dry by the club’s Chinese owners.
That, coupled with Lage’s new system, has given Liverpool encouragement that the asking price for Traore will be slashed in the coming weeks.
Klopp is keen on a forward signing who can play anywhere across the front line and carry the ball forward, particularly on the counter-attack.
Traore has been targeted with his contract at Wolves now down to the final two years.
Wolves offered the Spain international an extension and he was close to agreeing a new deal including a pay hike last October but negotiations broke down over money.
Traore struggled to live up his 18 goal/assist 2019-20 campaign last season, when his 42 matches brought just three goals and three assists.
