Liverpool fans urge Klopp to sign Dortmund 27-year-old after CL hat-trick

By Danny Wright

Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to plead with Jurgen Klopp to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the summer.

The 27-year-old struck a brilliant hat-trick to help Borussia Dortmund ease into the Champions League quarter finals as they secured a 4-1 aggregate win over Benfica after hitting four goals without reply at Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday night.

Aubameyang hit his 28th goal of the season in the rout over the Portuguese side and is averaging almost a goal a game this season in his 32 total appearances.

Liverpool supporters now believe that the Gabonese international is the man they their club should be looking to sign in the summer as they look to establish themselves as a top four Premier League club.

Champions League football next season could help the Merseyside club seal a deal, however due to his first-team duties at Dortmund, he will most likely not come cheaply as he is widely considered as one of the continent’s most exciting strikers.

However fans may be hopeful that ex-Dortmund boss Klopp may be able to use his links to his former club to help ease a deal through.

Aubameyang has hit a total of 108 goals during his 175 games for BVB and has also had spells at AC Milan, Monaco and St Etienne.

He is the current captain of his national team and has 19 goals in 48 caps for Gabon.
