Liverpool left-back Luke Chambers should be a top target for Celtic ahead of the January transfer window.
Chambers has emerged as a left-back target for the Hoops as they plan ahead for the winter transfer window.
The 22-year-old stayed at Anfield past the summer deadline after being included in Andoni Iraola's pre-season plans.
He has found competitive game time hard to come by, however, and looks set to leave Liverpool before his contract expires next June.
Celtic's left-back problems have been accentuated by Kieran Tierney's new injury blow, and they must now accelerate plans to sign Chambers as a result.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Charlton Athletic and impressed as they avoided relegation from the English Championship.

Chambers came through Liverpool's academy and made his first foray into senior football in Scotland during a successful loan stint at Kilmarnock in 2023.
He featured for Liverpool's first team in the next campaign, then spent time on loan at Wigan Athletic before a stint at Charlton last season.
The 22-year-old was among the best-performing second-tier full-backs for big chances created, successful crosses, fouls committed and clearances per 90, while he also ranked highly for successful dribble percentage and fewest times dribbled past per 90.
Sources have revealed to Football Insider that Celtic will face competition from English Championship clubs for Chambers in January, so they must accelerate talks ahead of the window.
Their current left-back options are an injury-plagued Tierney and Chelsea loanee Landon Emenalo, who has only played one senior game at 18-years-old.
It is a clear area that needs improving on, particularly with Tierney now facing more time on the sidelines and struggling to complete full 90s when he is fit.

Chambers is reaching a crossroads in his young career but would arrive at Parkhead with real potential and valuable experience under his belt already.
The 22-year-old made his Liverpool debut in a Europa League win over Toulouse in 2023, and then-Reds star Alexander-Arnold gave a glowing review of his qualities following the clash.
He told reporters: "He’s put in all the hard work, he’s shown himself, he’s been outstanding every time. He’s been in and around the team on and off the pitch, and he plays amazing football.
"It’s amazing to see him out there, as he’s a real amazing player who has great potential. I’m sure him and his family will have a great night because it’s one he’ll never forget. He put in an amazing performance out there, very mature, and contributed to a big win for us."
Chambers would certainly have a lot to prove at Celtic, and with their interest already made clear, the club should already be making plans to beat the competition for his signature.
