Harvey Elliott has taken to social media to send a heartfelt message to Jeremy Jacquet as he is linked with another move away from Liverpool.

Elliott is back at Liverpool for the time being after a tough loan spell at Aston Villa last season.

He rarely featured under Unai Emery as the Villans were reluctant to offer Elliott enough game time to trigger his £35million obligation-to-buy clause.

New Reds boss Andoni Iraola is keen to give him the chance to impress in pre-season, but his future remains up in the air as he has less than a year left on his current contract.

Liverpool also remain keen to bolster their attacking options this summer, particularly on the right-wing after Mo Salah's departure.

He is in line to feature in their friendly against Sunderland on Saturday, so needs to take the chance to impress Iraola before a possible exit is sanctioned.

Harvey Elliott replies to Jeremy Jacquet after his Liverpool arrival

Elliott only featured nine times for Villa last season, with just four Premier League appearances for his loan club as his last outing came in mid-March.

He left Merseyside because Arne Slot did not see a place for him in his squad, so Iraola's arrival has given him a much better chance of returning to the Reds fold.

The 23-year-old has continued to be linked away, but remains active on social media despite widespread rumours.

He took to Instagram on Friday night to reply to new man Jacquet's post, calling him: "My g" with a red heart emoji.

The pair have clearly struck up a close relationship, with Jacquet officially arriving on Merseyside earlier this month after Liverpool agreed a £60m move in February.

What has Iraola said about Elliott's future at Liverpool?

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Elliott is of interest to Crystal Palace, with a move potentially on the table if Liverpool agree to an exit.

Iraola's arrival means the slate has been wiped clean for all of the Reds' first team players, and he recently insisted that the 23-year-old would be given a chance to impress in pre-season games.

When asked if the 23-year-old still had a future at Anfield in a recent interview, he said: "Harvey is here with us, I have seen him with the eagerness to show up, get super ready, he’ll have a chance in pre-season, we’ll need him and it’s a good sign.

"I hope we can see him in a good place. I think Harvey comes from last season had to be difficult for him, strange situation, they couldn’t even play him and I think he uses this experience – the bad situation – to make himself even more eager to be a Liverpool player."
