Liverpool may see the doors open to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola in the summer transfer window.

The France international is being heavily linked with a move to the Reds as they look to bolster their attack after a disappointing 2025-26 campaign under Arne Slot.

There hasn't been much movement in recent weeks regarding the 23-year-old's possible move to the Merseyside outfit, but talks could potentially pick up the pace soon.

PSG are expected to beat Liverpool to the signing of Yan Diomande, with the RB Leipzig star preferring to link up with Luis Enrique this summer, but that would leave Barcola's future uncertain.

The Ligue 1 champions have an abundance of talent up front with Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Desire Doue, with the former Olympique Lyon ace behind the three in the pecking order.

If the French club end up bringing the Cote d'Ivoire international in for a significant sum, Barcola would undoubtedly face extra competition for a place in the starting lineup and could possibly look for a move away for guaranteed minutes.

Yan Diomande update emerges amid Liverpool interest

Diomande has the Ballon d'Or on his mind as he prefers a transfer to PSG over Liverpool this summer.

The Leipzig forward sees the move to Parc des Princes as giving him the best chance of competing for major honours in the future.

According to David Ornstein on 28 June, the 19-year-old believes in the project being built at the French club and wants to play for Enrique, who has won back-to-back Champions League titles with the Ligue 1 outfit.

Diomande's current contract at the Red Bull Arena expires in 2030 and it remains to be seen what the future holds for the attacker as Cote d'Ivoire get ready to face Norway in the last 32 of the 2026 World Cup.

Anfield hierarchy risk transfer repeat in Bradley Barcola race

Football Insider transfer correspondent Pete O'Rourke shared on 22 June that Arsenal seem to be leading the race for Barcola, with PSG willing to let him leave for a suitable offer.

Liverpool see the French winger as a backup option if they miss out on Diomande, but they could be beaten by the Gunners to another one of their summer targets.

Andoni Iraola has a massive season coming up at Anfield after replacing Slot, but fans in L4 will surely be left frustrated if they can't get a deal over the line for one of their top targets.
