Liverpool remain keen on PSG star Bradley Barcola and could accelerate an approach if they are unable to sign Yan Diomande this summer.

Barcola scored France's second as they beat Senegal 3-1 in midweek to open their World Cup account.

The 23-year-old is set to be a key part of Les Bleus' squad as they aim to lift the trophy this summer, but faces an uncertain future at club level.

He has been linked away from PSG after struggling to start in several key Champions League games last season.

Liverpool are looking to sign RB Leipzig star Diomande soon, but as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Barcola remains one of their top alternatives to the Ivory Coast man.

Barcola registered 13 goals and eight assists in 55 games last term, following 21 strikes and 18 assists in 58 appearances in 2024-25.

He would command a lofty fee, despite recent game time struggles, but only looks set to move to Anfield if a move for Diomande fails.

Bradley Barcola still high up Liverpool's winger shortlist

Diomande is currently starring at the World Cup too, after registering 13 goals and nine assists in 36 games for Leipzig last term.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "I'm sure there have been clubs watching Barcola at the World Cup, doing their homework.

"He did himself no harm with that goal off the bench for France against Senegal. Look, he's been a long-term target for Liverpool, Barcola.

"I think obviously Liverpool's top target is Yan Diomande, if they can get a deal done for him, I think that's the deal that they would pursue."

Sources: Liverpool ready to agree urgent Rio Ngumoha deal after Bayern Munich 'agreement'

Liverpool want to tie Rio Ngumoha down to a new contract

Teen starlet Ngumoha will be competing for a place in Andoni Iraola's starting eleven with whichever new left winger the Reds snap up this summer.

He came into the side towards the back end of last season following a breakout 2025-26, and recently impressed on his senior England debut.

Amid rumours of a possible move away, sources have told Football Insider that Liverpool want Ngumoha to sign a new deal in the coming months.

They have lined up a new contract offer for the winger for when he turns 18-years-old in August.
