Liverpool star Alisson Becker 'listening to offers' from rival clubs as exit edges closer

Liverpool are aware that Alisson Becker will listen to offers from rival clubs as they weigh up whether to extend his contract.

The 33-year-old is set to see his contract expire next summer as things stand, and a number of clubs across world football are keeping a close eye on his situation.

The goalkeeper is planning to assess his options and listen to offers before making a firm decision about his future, while Liverpool continue to weigh up his long-term future.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Alisson is uncertain about his future at Liverpool who have yet to make a decision about his contract.

Any decision about the goalkeeper's future is likely to be taken in the latter half of the season, which could open the door for rival clubs to swoop with pre-contract offers.

European clubs, notably including Juventus, have been interested in Alisson in the last couple of months, while he is also believed to have suitors in Saudi Arabia.

What is the latest on Alisson's contract situation at Liverpool?

Brown told Football Insider on 8 September that Liverpool are not currently planning to offer Alisson a new contract after holding internal talks over his future.

While the Brazil international remains an important part of Andoni Iraola's first-team plans, and has turned in some impressive performances, there are doubts over his future.

There are lingering concerns about his age and injury history which could force the Reds to consider his future, and could tempt Alisson to consider his options.

"From Alisson's point of view, I expect he will be considering his options," Brown told Football Insider.

"There will be no shortage of offers for him on a free transfer because he's still very highly regarded, not just at Liverpool but by a lot of clubs who could do with someone of his quality.

"If Liverpool aren't going to commit to handing him a new contract until closer to the end of the season, then of course he's going to have a look at what offers come in.

"The club will be aware of that, they'll be ready for it, and then it's about whether they decide to make an offer or not.

"But for Alisson, having that uncertainty there could force him to make the decision himself, and he could well be tempted to move on if the right offer comes in.

"Obviously there will be talks with Liverpool somewhere down the line, but the longer it goes on without a contract on the table, the more time he will have to consider other offers."

Which clubs are interested in signing Alisson?

Amid ongoing uncertainty about Alisson's future at Liverpool, a number of clubs across world football are likely to be placed on alert as they continue to keep tabs on the situation.

Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider earlier in the summer that Juventus had held discussions about signing Alisson from Liverpool.

While nothing materialised in terms of an offer from the Italian giants, the shot-stopper is believed to be interested in a return to Serie A, where he previously represented Roma.

However, Juventus have since landed the signing of former Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, which could put an end to their pursuit of Alisson.

That may come as a boost to clubs in the Saudi Pro League and MLS, who could swoop ahead of their European rivals should they receive any indication that he could be available.
