Liverpool to sign 'three more players' in last-gasp transfer blitz - expert

Andoni Iraola will make further improvements to his Liverpool squad before the summer transfer window slams shut.

That is according to former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that he expects a lot of movement at Anfield in the remaining weeks of the window.

Jeremy Jacquet has arrived after signing his pre-contract in February, being followed by Victor Munoz and Ronald Araujo on Merseyside.

However, with Ibrahima Konate, Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah all leaving as free agents, supporters are understandably anxious about the upcoming season.

Most of the talk has been around a potential deal for PSG star Bradley Barcola, but the Champions League winners' price tag is a sticking point currently.

Iraola's side are also said to be interested in Ibrahim Mbaye, who could be viewed as a cheaper alternative to his French teammate this summer.

'Liverpool will be active in the next two weeks'

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson has predicted plenty of transactions still to come at Anfield, both ins and outs before the new season starts.

"There's then the clearing. I think you have a sort of clearing situation where the clubs are trying to get rid of their fringe players," he said.

"Liverpool, presumably, are going to start being active in the market. You've got to think they're going to buy two or three players in the last couple of weeks.

"I still think there's a lot of business that's going to get done, but probably on the lower end, the sort of sub-£50million level."

Liverpool's pre-season, including defeats to Leeds United and Monaco, would certainly suggest that there's room for improvement in the squad.

Who else could leave Anfield this summer?

Iraola could see more than just players coming to Anfield, with several being linked with moves away in the final stages of the window.

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Cody Gakpo, though it remains to be seen if they will make a move, while Alexis Mac Allister's future has been a talking point.

Goalkeeper Alisson was expected to depart for Juventus earlier in the summer, but with just days left until the new season starts, it would foolish to cash in now.

And despite playing a role in pre-season, Football Insider understands that Kieran Morrison could join Dutch side FC Groningen on loan.
