Liverpool fans all say the same thing about Milos Kerkez after win vs Ipswich
Liverpool fans have slammed Milos Kerkez’s performance during their 2-0 victory against Ipswich Town on Friday.
It was a good day out for the Reds and Andoni Iraola as a brace from Alexander Isak ensured that the visitors picked up their first victory of the campaign.
However, not every player impressed at Portman Road, with Kerkez being the victim of plenty of criticism after the game.
The full-back had been heavily criticised in Liverpool’s first two matches of the campaign, as the club failed to win either and conceded a combined four goals.
Yet, even in victory, the 22-year-old did not do enough to satisfy the travelling fans.
Many supporters labelled the full-back as a “liability”, with question marks remaining over his long-term suitability in the starting XI.
Liverpool fans remain unimpressed with Milos Kerkez
Since his move from Bournemouth last summer, Kerkez has failed to match the performances he was once putting in at Bournemouth.
It was hoped that upon Iraola’s arrival, the full-back’s former manager could reignite his form.
However, so far this campaign, the Hungary international has failed to return to form, and fans are not happy.
Despite playing the full 90 minutes in the victory against Ipswich Town on Friday, many supporters took to X to blast Kerkez’s display.
How bad was Kerkez vs Ipswich Town?
Unfortunately for Kerkez, his stats are pretty poor from the Ipswich clash.
According to Fotmob on 5 September, he completed 85 per cent of his passes, did not create a single chance, failed to complete his one attempted dribble, was dispossessed once, made two tackles, three clearances, zero interceptions, won three out of seven ground duels and one out of three aerial duels.
Therefore, not only was Kerkez poor in attack, but he struggled to consistently win the ball in defence.
If the defender is to stay in the starting XI, he will have to dramatically improve his performances over the next few weeks.
If not, Kerkez could soon find himself benched, or even dropped from the squad altogether, especially when the fans clearly do not believe that the defender has the ability needed at the club.
