Liverpool are "confident" that they can keep hold of Rio Ngumoha amid surprise interest in his services from Arsenal, sources have told Football Insider.

The Gunners have registered their interest in Ngumoha in recent months following his breakthrough season at Liverpool.

He emerged as one of the brightest young attacking prospects in world football after being handed 29 appearances across all competitions for the Reds.

Andoni Iraola has championed him even further at the start of this campaign, with starts in three of their six competitive matches so far.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Liverpool are relaxed about Ngumoha's future at the club despite links to Arsenal.

The 18-year-old signed his first professional terms last year as Liverpool tied him down to 2028.

Liverpool content with Rio Ngumoha contract situation amid Arsenal interest

Ngumoha earned a spot in England's pre-World Cup training squad over the summer and has been named in the full squad for the first time ahead of the upcoming international break.

Liverpool are in talks with his representatives over a new deal, with Arsenal's interest not considered a threat to proceedings at this stage.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "It's no surprise that Arsenal are looking at Rio Ngumoha and are interested in him. I'm sure a number of top clubs will be interested in the winger. Bayern Munich were linked in the summer transfer window, but look, Liverpool are pretty relaxed about this whole situation.

"When you get top young players like this, they're always going to attract interest from other clubs, but Liverpool are confident that his long-term future will be at Anfield."

Liverpool join 'race' to sign Tyrick Mitchell after contract twist

Liverpool considering Tyrick Mitchell approach

Milos Kerkez's struggles at Liverpool have furthered rumours over their interest in signing a new left-back in 2027.

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Crystal Palace's Mitchell is on the Reds' radar as he nears the end of his contract with the South London club.

Mitchell has been a key performer for the Eagles across several seasons and would be a low-cost alternative to the struggling Mitchell.

Palace are trying to tie him down to a new deal as it stands, but several top clubs are keeping tabs on his situation.
