Tottenham told '£70m' Cody Gakpo offer will be accepted
Tottenham Hotspur must sell a player from their front-line before attempting to sign Cody Gakpo from Liverpool.
That is the opinion of former senior Tottenham scout, Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.
The 27-year-old has emerged as a top target for the Lilywhites this summer, with his future at Anfield looking increasingly uncertain.
Gakpo only signed a new deal last summer, but the emergence of Rio Ngumoha and the potential arrival of Bradley Barcola have seen his importance diminished.
Tottenham have already spent well over £200m on Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali and Jan Paul van Hecke this summer, but are yet to invest in their attack.
Savinho is also a target and looks set to join from Manchester City this summer, with Gakpo eyed in addition to the Brazilian.

To accommodate both Savinho and Gakpo this summer, it is likely that Tottenham will have to part ways with at least two players.
A disappointing season has seen the futures of Dominic Solanke, Mathys Tel and Richarlison thrown up in the air, while Manor Solomon is almost certainly set to leave.
"I think it would be a very good signing for them. He's a good player," King told Football Insider when asked about Gakpo.
"Done quite well in the World Cup, didn't he? But again, if you're going to bring in a player of that quality, you have to sell.
"They can't, I know they've got rid of one front player [Randal Kolo Muani]. I think he'd be their type of player. I'd rate him above both Richarlison or Solanke.
"So, if that's what the manager wants, at the moment, everything he's wanted, they've gone out and bought, haven't they? So, that's going to be an interesting one.
"He's going to cost them a lot of money, that's for sure. At least £70m, I would have thought."
Tottenham set for even more business
Tottenham are far from done in the transfer window yet this summer, with several more deals planned.
After consecutive 17th-placed finishes in the Premier League, decision-makers have placed their full backing behind De Zerbi.
Asked about the remainder of the window, the Italian said: "In the transfer market when I want one player I become like a shark. No chance to say no.
"The transfer market, it's not finished for sure, but we completed 60 per cent of our project in the transfer market. Now we have another bomba."
