Sources: Sheffield Wednesday agree deal to sign Liverpool's Kieran Morrison
Sheffield Wednesday have agreed a deal to sign Liverpool winger Kieran Morrison on a season-long loan, sources have told Football Insider.
The Owls have been working on a deal for the 19-year-old in recent days, and have fought off significant competition to win the race for his signature.
The Northern Ireland international is now on the verge of sealing his move to Hillsborough, with the transfer now in the very final stages.
Sources have indicated that Morrison even trained with his new teammates on Wednesday morning, ahead of his arrival being confirmed.
The wideman is likely to be available for Wednesday's clash against Bradford City on Thursday night.
Morrison is set to embark on his first loan spell when he joins Wednesday, with Liverpool keen for him to head out and get senior experience.
Sheffield Wednesday secure exciting young talent
Morrison is tipped to have a huge future ahead of him at Anfield, and he has already featured for Liverpool at senior level.
He made appearances in both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup last term, and has been part of Andoni Iraola's squad throughout pre-season.
However, the plan was always for the starlet to head out on loan and gain first-team exposure in 2026-27, and the Reds have now ticked that box with Wednesday.
Morrison dazzled for Liverpool's U21 side last term, notching a staggering 14 goals and four assists from just 19 games in Premier League 2.
The exciting winger is widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in Liverpool's academy, and will now get the chance to make an impact at Wednesday.
The League One side will be pushing for an immediate return to the Championship this term, and will now have Morrison to help their cause.
Sheffield Wednesday preferred over Wolfsburg
Football Insider revealed last week that both Bristol City and Wolfsburg had made enquiries over a potential loan move for Morrison.
The starlet has had keen suitors from an array of clubs both in the Football League and across Europe, but Wednesday have been selected as the best option for his development.
The chance of a move to the Bundesliga was an option for Morrison, alongside the option of heading straight into the Championship.
However, Wednesday have posed a better project in Liverpool's eyes, and will now be trusted with the next stage of the youngster's development.
