Lloris states this is the most important thing at Tottenham
By Derek Smithson
Hugo Lloris claims that having the right balance between defence and attack is the most crucial thing at Tottenham.
Spurs earned a second-placed finish in the Premier League last season and are fast becoming one of England’s top sides under Mauricio Pochettino.
The north London club had both the best offensive and defensive statistics in the top flight during the last campaign, which highlights the quality at their disposal.
Spurs managed 86 league goals and were in sensational form during the closing weeks of the season, beating Leicester 6-1 and already relegated Hull 7-1 both away from home.
Meanwhile, Pochetino’s side are built on a strong defence and they shipped just 26 league goals through the 38-game season.

Spurs goalkeeper Lloris is a vital part of their success and believes their strengths all over the pitch helped them immensely last season.
“Okay, scoring goals is important but the most important thing is to have a balance, not conceding easy chances and conceding goals because then the game becomes less difficult to win,” Lloris said, as quoted by the club’s official website.
“Last season we became the best defence, this season we’re the best defence and that as to be in your DNA, not conceding chances, not conceding goals, playing good football and creating chances.”
Spurs have a settled defence with centre-back combination Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen solid, while Pochettino has four grat full-back options to rotate between.
Meanwhile, the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen make them deadly in attack.
In other Tottenham news, Gary Lineker has backed Harry Kane to break all the records.
