Lundstram is the 'luckiest man in Ibrox' after what I've seen at Rangers
Kevin Phillips has claimed John Lundstram was the luckiest man in Ibrox after he was sent off for Rangers last week.
The Sunderland legend, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the fallout from Thursday’s game.
Lundstram was sent off during the first half of Thursday’s Europa League clash against Alashkert.
It was only the midfielder’s fifth outing for Rangers after he joined the club on a free transfer earlier this summer.
His previous game went considerably better as he opened his account against Dunfermline in the cup.
Phillips insists Lundstram’s start to life at Ibrox has been poor and claimed he was lucky his teammates bailed him out last week.

“He’s not had a great start,” Phillips told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I was speaking to some Sheffield United fans the other night and I asked them if they were sad to see Lundstram go.
“They weren’t to be honest. That surprised me and he could still be a good signing for Rangers.
“I got sent off in my third game for Southampton and it’s not a nice feeling.
“The player will be disappointed, it’s really disappointing for everyone.
“The only saving grace is that Rangers majorly bailed him out and won the game. He was the luckiest man in Ibrox that night.“
Alfredo Morelos scored to give Rangers a 1-0 win ahead of next week’s second leg clash.
Lundstram will be suspended for the trip to Armenia.
