Alan Hutton has claimed Denzel Dumfries would "hit the ground running" at Man United.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said Dumfries' offensive ability would suit Erik ten Hag's style.

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport (23 July), the Red Devils are said to be ready to "make an offer" for the 26-year-old if they can offload Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Inter Milan are said to value the player at around £33million.

The Italian club have apparently already held talks with Chelsea about the potential transfer of the Dutchman.

The full-back has three years left on his contract with the Serie A side.

When asked if Dumfries could be a good fit for United, Hutton told Football Insider's Charlotte Cohen: "He's definitely attacking, he loves to get forward.

"We saw it in the Euros with Holland, he's an outlet, and that is the way Ten Hag wants to play.

"He's been brought up in that mould of the Dutch football, the passing, the movement, the working hard. He's had a lot of experience for someone of a young age.

"Of course I think he could come in and hit the ground running. That's the way he wants to play football so it would be a good match."

Dumfries made 45 appearances for Inter Milan across all competitions last season.

He scored five goals and provided five assists in those outings.
