Man United could seal 'huge' Rudiger signing after source's offer update - pundit
Man United could pull off “a huge coup” with the signing of Antonio Rudiger, according to Paul Robinson.
The former Spurs and England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted it “would be crazy” for Chelsea to let go of the 28-year-old amid interest from their rivals.
Rudiger is into the final six months of his deal at Stamford Bridge and is free to agree a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club.
A United source told Football Insider (7 January) that the club are readying a “huge” offer for the Germany international and the latest update is that contact could be made on Friday (14 January) about the offer.
The Red Devils are prepared to offer Rudiger a lucrative long-term contract in a bid to beat Europe’s top clubs to his signature.
Tottenham are one of the other clubs heavily interested in the centre-half.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the latest, Robinson said:
“I cannot believe Chelsea are not going to give him what he wants. He’s a player they need if they want to challenge for the title and the Champions League. Chelsea would have to spend big to replace him.
“It’d be a huge coup for any Premier League side if they were able to get him.
“Regardless of his age, he is one of the best centre-halves in the world.
“To allow him to go to a rival in Manchester United or Spurs would be crazy. It’d be a really surprising move from Chelsea.”
