Manchester United are in advanced talks with teenage sensation Kobbie Mainoo over signing a bumper new contract at the club, sources have told Football Insider.

Mainoo hit the headlines again after scoring what turned out to be the all-important second goal in Man United’s 2-1 FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.

Sources say there is no concern at Man United about the England international’s situation and they are not in a rush to reach an agreement.

Old Trafford chiefs see the midfielder as the future of the club after forcing his way into the starting lineup over the past few months.

It’s been an exceptional campaign for Mainoo after he’s started in all 24 of his Premier League appearances since November.

The midfielder’s FA Cup final strike against Man City took his tally to five goals and three assists for the season as he continues to impress at Old Trafford.

The teenager’s performances have also earned him international recognition after he made his England debut in March and has been included in Gareth Southgate’s training squad for the upcoming European Championships.
