Man United may block Henderson exit after what Phillips has 'heard'
Kevin Phillips has questioned whether Man United would allow Dean Henderson to leave the club on loan.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Sunderland and England striker claimed the 24-year-old will want to leave Old Trafford to avoid going “stale”.
Henderson has made just one senior appearance for the Reds Devils this season.
David de Gea has won back the number one shirt at Old Trafford having seemingly lost it to Henderson at the back end of the 2020-21 campaign.
According to The Sun (22nd September), Henderson wants a loan move away from United.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Henderson’s future, Phillips said:

“I’ve heard from people he wants to go out on loan and play football.
“De Gea has won the number one shirt back, there’s no doubt about that. Tom Heaton is there as well now.
“The kid got some good minutes in the EFL Cup but is that enough for him? We know he is a very good goalkeeper. I don’t think he wants to sit there, get stale and not play having played a lot of football over the last couple of years.
“I can understand why the player would want to go out on loan. It is just whether United would let him. I’m not sure they would.
“From the player’s point of view, he will want to go and play football. It makes sense.”
