Kevin Mirallas has revealed that he was not axed from the Everton squad to face Watford at the Goodison Park on Sunday due to being banished from training the day before.

Sky Sports reported that Mirallas and team-mate Morgan Schneiderlin were sent away from first-team training on Saturday due to a lack of effort.

Mirallas has since taken to his personal Instagram account to rubbish that report, however the Liverpool Echo has now claimed that the senior duo were invited to leave the session, which was being ran by Duncan Ferguson, to which they accepted.

Now, the Belgium international, who was linked with a move away from Goodison Park in the summer, has stunningly admitted that he is failing to cope with things at the moment with the Toffees, finding himself annoyed with the plight they find themselves in.

“I have to restore the truth after some articles in the medias,” he said on Tuesday.

“I was not excluded of the squad due to a lack of commitment during training this was a manager decision and I was frustrated as I am fully committed in Everton since arriving in 2012 and I can’t accept our actual ranking.

“I apologize to the president and owner, my team mates and the manager for not being able to cope at that moment with my frustration.”

Mirallas has been a stalwart of the Everton first-team but is currently finding himself in the worst run of form he has ever been in on Merseyside.

He has no doubt suffered from Ronald Koeman’s reluctance to use wingers this term, meaning that he has just played 10 times across all competitions, with just five starts.

The 58-times Belgium international may struggle to get back into the team after being axed on Sunday for the Watford game, as in his absence his team-mates stormed to a 3-2 victory with David Unsworth winning his first game in caretaker charge.
