The Englishman was superb again on Wednesday, and picked up an assist when Bellingham ran onto his through ball before driving towards goal and finishing past Dominik Livakovic.
Anderson completed a cross and two long balls on the night, but it was his defensive work, as usual, that caught the eye.
The Nottingham Forest star made two tackles, two clearances, four interceptions and a remarkable eight recoveries.
He also won six duels and two free-kicks, on a night that Marinakis may well point to as he increases his resilience against Man City's interest.
Jude Bellingham sends message to Anderson
Anderson is expected to ultimately leave Nottingham Forest this summer, but decision-makers at the City Ground will go down swinging.
The midfielder's World Cup display on Wednesday was yet another reason why, and there is undoubtedly more to come.
Anderson posted on Instagram following the game and wrote: "Start as we mean to go on. Let's go!"
