Ex-Man City advisor drops two-word verdict on Man United's chances of signing Elliot Anderson

Manchester United will struggle to sign superstar Elliot Anderson in addition to seeking legal action against Manchester City.

That is according to former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that Premier League clubs taking legal action against the Citizens will harm their chances of sealing transfers, while he dropped a two-word verdict on the actual chances of a deal.

With the eight-time Premier League winners facing a guilty verdict on 114 charges, attention has already turned to what their potential punishment could or should be.

Football Insider already understands that Erling Haaland could lead a mass exodus at the Etihad Stadium if Man City are relegated from the Premier League.

Despite only signing on a £116million deal during the summer, many believe that Anderson could already be eyeing an exit.

It was well documented that the Red Devils also wanted to sign the England international, and now an opportunity to do so at a bargain rate may have emerged.

Elliot Anderson to Man United could be impacted by legal proceedings

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson has quickly squashed the idea of Anderson moving to Old Trafford, even much further down the line.

"Down the line, these players may well be sold, so it's pretty clear that City are not going to be in a situation where on the one hand they're in litigation with other clubs..." he explained.

"And on the other hand, they're selling them players at reductions unless they absolutely have to.

"If they end up getting in, as it appears to be the case, in litigation with all these teams, the idea that they're also going to be able to have these nice, calm negotiations on selling players, I will say this, 'forget it'.

"These are going to be very difficult negotiations. But anyway, it's obviously massively premature to be having those conversations."

Which Man City players could join Premier League rivals?

Anderson's future is not the only one being spoken about, with Football Insider revealing that Arsenal have already been in contact for Haaland's signature.

Mick Brown, speaking to Football Insider, also believes that Marc Guehi to Liverpool is "back on" after the Reds missed out on his signature previously.

Rayan Cherki, Enzo Fernandez and Gianluigi Donnarumma are all expected to jump ship, while opinions are divided on Phil Foden's future.

While some would hope that he stays in the event of relegation to the Championship, he simply couldn't be blamed if he chose to join another club for his own career.
