Heaven Kilwa: Meet Man City's new gem arriving from Aston Villa

Manchester City have spent much of the summer transfer window bolstering their academy ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

While Pierce Charles was signed and immediately sent out on loan to QPR, Jeremy Monga and Mishel Nduka look set to remain in Manchester.

PSG's Hermann Malonga also appeared to be on his way to England, but his five-year contract fell through, instead moving to Strasbourg.

Heaven Kilwa is the latest to be linked with a move to one of the most prestigious academies, not just in England, but across the world.

According to Fabrizio Romano (13 August), a deal is in place for the Citizens to sign the 16-year-old from Aston Villa, with the paperwork already signed.

It is understood that Man City are acquiring a very talented youngster, but supporters will be eager to know about the 16-year-old arriving from Villa Park.

Heaven Kilwa has already achieved an impressive feat

Kilwa, a winger, also capable of playing through the middle, saw his contract with the Villans expire in June after rejecting a scholarship.

While it is still very early in his career, there is a lot of excitement already building around the attacker, and it is very easy to see why.

In October 2025, he achieved a very rare feat of scoring for both Villa Under-16s and Under-18s on the same day, scoring in both, remarkably.

He netted twice for the U16s against West Ham United abefore coming off the bench for the age group above, and firing home another just a few hours later.

Understandably, supporters are praising the club for their recruitment at academy level, with Man City "two or three steps ahead".

Pre-season has shone a light on the talents currently at the Etihad, with Stephen Mfuni, Ryan McAidoo and Mahamadou Sangare all making positive impacts.

Divin Mubama and Max Alleyne have been given chances to impress on loan in 2026-27, but the route through to the first team is there for all to see.

That would certainly explain why so many are eager to join the club at any level, with the promise of great success in the future.
