Man City players open preliminary 'talks' over moves as they 'look to get a good deal'
Manchester City are at risk of losing multiple star players and agents are already in talks about their potential departures.
It has been suggested that Man City could suffer relegation from the Premier League after they were found guilty of all 115 charges related to breaches of financial rules.
That has forced players to consider their futures despite the club protesting the decision and maintaining their innocence, with an appeal lodged on Friday.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Man City will inevitably lose big-name players and work is already being done to find their next clubs.
This comes after Thomas Tuchel revealed the issues have been a topic of conversation among the City players on England duty, with concerns now starting to grow.
As a result, agents are already working hard behind the scenes, with the likes of Erling Haaland, Ryan Cherki and Elliot Anderson already being tipped for moves away.
Could Man City be set to lose their star players?
Football Insider revealed on 3 October that Haaland could lead a mass exodus of Man City's big names, with "all the top stars" now considering their futures.
There is a belief that, should the club suffer relegation to the Championship or below, their players will be eyeing a return to top level football, placing European clubs on alert.
Agents are already believed to be holding discussions behind the scenes to prepare for any eventuality, and City could now be set to lose a number of their biggest names.
"Of course players are going to be considering their futures at Man City now," Brown told Football Insider.
"Especially if they're going to be relegated, which is a real possibility, those players are going to want to play at the highest level and in Europe, so there's plenty to consider.
"Obviously it all depends on that word 'if', but preparations are already being put in place just in case that situation plays out.
"Agents will already be speaking to different clubs, looking to see what sort of interest there might be, and looking to see if they can get their client a good deal at the end of it.
"They will be in contact with top clubs around Europe, just putting the ground work in place so that if they are relegated, things can move very quickly.
"There's still a long way to go until that happens, of course, but they have to be prepared so that work is now being done behind the scenes."
Will Man City be forced to accept cut-price offers?
Alongside the imminent threat of losing a number of their top players, Man City are also fearing that they could be forced to reduce their asking price for those stars.
Man City maintain their innocence and have already lodged an appeal against the verdict, so any punishment is still a way off, but plans will be made behind the scenes.
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson told Football Insider that some of the club's biggest players could leave for a fraction of the price they were signed for.
With Haaland, Phil Foden, Marc Guehi and Gianluigi Donnarumma, to name just a few, all appreciated around Europe, major exits could follow.
Meanwhile, it is said that City already had knowledge of the guilty verdict before splashing the cash on the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Ayyoub Bouaddi and Elliot Anderson.
