Source: Liverpool told ‘big’ offer for Ayyoub Bouaddi will get deal done
Bouaddi has drawn suitors from across Europe as he shines for Morocco at the World Cup at just 18-years-old.
The holding midfielder has performed impressively against Brazil, Scotland and the Netherlands to help his country reach the round of 16 stage.
Man City are among the teams interested in signing him, after he was also a regular for Lille throughout last season.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, the French club will let Bouaddi leave this summer if they receive an offer they are unable to refuse.
Reports have suggested that the 18-year-old could be available to sign for between £68-85million.
New Citizens boss Enzo Maresca is keen to bolster his midfield options, with Elliot Anderson set to arrive in the coming weeks.
Ayyoub Bouaddi can leave Lille for a sizeable fee this summer
Bouaddi made 42 appearances in all competitions for Lille last season as they finished third to make the Champions League for next term.
His status as one of the World Cup's breakout stars means City are keen to sign him this summer, with the path now opening up to make a move after the tournament.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "I don't think there's a clear favourite for Bouaddi. He's obviously been a standout for Morocco at the World Cup, and that has obviously brought a lot of eyes on him.
"You've got Man City, you've got Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Bayern Munich all interested in the Lille midfielder, which doesn't come as a surprise considering his performances for Morocco. He's still only 18 as well, so Lille don't really want to lose him, but obviously if a big offer does come in for him, it it's something they would have to consider."
Tijjani Reijnders' future is up in the air after game-time issues
Dutch international midfielder Reijnders impressed upon arrival at City last summer but struggled for minutes at the end of the season under Pep Guardiola.
Sources have told Football Insider that Enzo Maresca will make a decision on Reijnders' future soon as he attracts interest from across Europe.
Juventus and other Serie A clubs are believed to be keen on his services, but he will be given the chance to impress in pre-season.
His exit could pave the way for City to sign another new midfielder alongside Anderson, with Bouaddi a top target.
