Manchester City have emerged as the new favourites to secure a sensational deal for Alex Scott this summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old Bournemouth midfielder has been heavily linked with an exit from the Vitality Stadium throughout the summer after he rejected a new contract.

Multiple Premier League clubs have been linked with the youngster, with Chelsea formerly being the favourites to secure a deal.

However, one UK bookmaker has now slashed the odds on Scott securing a move to the Etihad down to 1/1.

This comes amid City’s search for a new midfielder after Rodri completed his move to Barcelona earlier this month.

Scott played 37 times in the Premier League last season, and scored three goals as Bournemouth qualified for the Europa League.

How good is Alex Scott?

Scott is no doubt one of the most promising stars in the Premier League at the moment.

Since his move to the Cherries, he has quickly established himself as a star player in the squad.

This is shown in his stats, with Scott excelling both in possession and defensively.

According to Fotmob on 21 August, he averaged 5.82 duels won with a 55.6 per cent success rate, 1.16 aerial duels won with a 54.4 per cent success rate, 1.89 fouls won, 1.89 tackles, 1.13 interceptions, 0.47 blocked shots, 6.14 recoveries and 2.55 clearances per 90 minutes.

Therefore, if these can be replicated at Man City, he could be an excellent new addition this summer.

In time, he could also prove to be a fantastic replacement for Rodri, especially if he continues to develop at his current pace.

Who else is interested in Scott this summer?

Besides City, Chelsea are also heavily linked with Scott.

As it stands, the Blues are 11/10 to secure the signing before the transfer window slams shut on 1 September.

Liverpool are also considered to be in the race at 2/1, with Newcastle United considered potential outsiders at 6/1.

A stay at Bournemouth beyond this transfer window is seen as the most likely outcome as it stands at 13/20, with the club unlikely to want to sell their star man this late in the summer.

However, it remains to be seen where Scott will be playing his football throughout the 2026-27 campaign.
