Sources: Regan Heskey set to leave Man City in next 24 hours after talks stall
Manchester City sensation Reigan Heskey is wanted by top clubs in England and Europe, sources have told Football Insider.
The winger's scholarship deal at the Etihad Stadium is set to expire on 30 June and talks are ongoing over a professional deal.
However, nothing has been agreed, and that has alerted Europe's top sides to the 18-year-old's potential availability on a free transfer.
Sources say that several Premier League clubs and top European sides are monitoring Heskey's situation closely and are waiting in the wings as uncertainty over his future continues.
England Under-19 international Heskey has been a standout player for City at U18s and U21s level, and he made his senior debut in the Carabao Cup win at Huddersfield last September.
The skilful attacker managed 13 goals and 16 assists in 41 games across all competitions last season and starred in the FA Youth Cup too, scoring the winner against Manchester United in the final last month.
Man City running out of time to tie down Reigan Heskey
Heskey has established himself as one of City's brightest young talents in recent months, and has shone with his form in Premier League 2.
The young forward has been outlined as a player with a big future ahead of him, and he impressed Pep Guardiola enough to be involved with the senior team many times last season.
The starlet featured in the Carabao Cup, and was also named on the bench for several games throughout the Premier League campaign.
However, he is now on the verge of departing his boyhood club if a new deal cannot be agreed, with City stalling on the offer of his first professional contract.
The list of suitors for Heskey elsewhere among elite academies has been growing steadily, and those clubs are now just days away from pouncing for a deal.
Man City on the verge of losing second talented starlet
Football Insider revealed earlier in June that Lazio and Feyenoord are both eyeing moves to sign young Man City midfielder Charlie Gray.
The Citizens have also been in talks over a contract extension for the talented midfielder, but he now looks increasingly likely to depart on a free.
Like Heskey, Gray was part of the senior matchday squad in the Premier League on several occasions in 2025-26, and made his senior debut in the Carabao Cup.
However, both are now on the verge of leaving the club, as City look set to lose a pair of big talents.
